OSL Masterclass with Philipp Blom – 18 September 2020

On Friday 18th of September, national research school OSL will host an online masterclass by novelist and historian Philipp Blom. Building on the topic of Blom’s latest book (Das Grosse Welttheater, 2020), the masterclass will focus on the power of narrative in times of crisis, and on the role both academics and artists can play in narrating a sustainable world. After a short presentation by Blom, there will be time for an open Q&A with the author, moderated by OSL PhDs Judith Jansma (Groningen), Kim Schoof (Open Universiteit) and Clara Vlessing (Utrecht). The masterclass is also connected to Blom’s keynote lecture on ‘The State of European Literature’, which will take place in Amsterdam on the same day, 19:30-20:30 (more information here).

OSL is particularly grateful to Dr. Guido Snel (UvA) for his kind support during the preparation of this event.
