Vacancy for a Student Assistantship – Huizinga Institute – DL: 27 October 2024

The Huizinga Institute is offering a Student Assistantship  for an enthusiastic RMA student. The Student Assistant will support the Institute from 1 January 2025 – 31 March 2025 for 0,1 fte (4 hours a week). The work can be done mostly from home.

Description

The Huizinga Institute is the national research school for cultural history in the Netherlands. It offers a structured programme of courses catering for PhD candidates and RMA students. It also operates as a national platform for cultural historians. The Institute currently counts ca. 100 RMA students, ca. 120 PhD candidates and 250 staff members from 10 different universities.

We are looking for an RMA student who is enthusiastic about communicating and showcasing inspiring examples in the area of valorisation, impact, and careers of Huizinga members and alumni.

An indication of the tasks:

  • Gathering information for a new webpage on members’ best practices in valorisation and impact (finding information online, but also approaching members, interviewing, writing short webtexts);
  • Enriching the institute’s Alumni Directory, Member Directory and career page by e.g. adding Linked-In links, existing mini-interviews etc.;
  • Drafting content based on the above mentioned themes for the Huizinga Institute’s newsletter and Socials.

Requirements

The Student Assistant should be enrolled (fulltime) at a Dutch University during the full term of the assistantship. They will be employed by Utrecht University.

This vacancy is open to non-Dutch speaking students, but passive knowledge of Dutch is recommended. Texts for the website must be written in English.

Prior knowledge of WordPress is not a requirement.
