My research focuses on the role of sport for Caribbean diasporic communities in the Netherlands and the Caribbean since 1950. I analyze how sport has played a role in processes of integration and belonging, as well as in processes of discrimination and exclusion. In particular, I look at how the sport of baseball brought people together and formed identities in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
