My project deals with the peace movement in the US on the eve of the First World War, and specifically efforts to bring about a commemoration of the century of peace between the US and the UK following the end of the War of 1812. This was spearheaded by the American Committee for the Celebration of a Century of Peace Amongst English-Speaking Peoples 1914-15, later renamed the American Peace Celebration Committee (APCC), which committee is the main focus of my research.
